Viking period, bronze cast amulet pendant with three tinkling chains, dating 9th-11th century AD.

In ancient times people believed that noise would drive away evil spirits. This beautiful example is composed of several cast pieces. The top ornament is linked with three bells.

Weight: 15,4 g

Provenance: 1970s-2000s in the private British collection of W.S. Since 2000 in the private collection of J.G. London, UK. Bought by the current owner in 2014 from W.H. in London, UK., who had owned the item since 2008.
