The object in detail.

Wonderful long “Agate Glass” or “Ribbon Glass” ancient bead from the Late Hellenistic Period. Similar beads are found in a book of James W. Lankton, “A Bead Timeline,” figure 6.4, and date to between the 3rd and 2nd century BC.

Provenance: Till 1960 in the private British collection of N.S. Since 1960 in a private British collection of Mr. B.W. Bought by the current owner in 2019 in London, from C.B. who had owned the item since 2010

Offered in stable, well-preserved condition consistent with its age and burial history. Surfaces retain their original character; no modern restoration beyond conservation-grade stabilisation.
